Window Tint

Cooler cabin. Sharper look.
Heat and glare, reduced.

Professional window film installed in a controlled environment. Options cover heat rejection, UV blockage, glare control, and privacy in a range of visible-light-transmission levels compliant with Virginia law.

What it is

More than just a tint percentage.
Film grade matters more than shade.

Window film is a thin multi-layer polyester applied to the interior surface of glass. The quality differentiator is not how dark it looks. It is how much infrared heat the film rejects, how well it blocks UV, and how cleanly it is installed.

Blackbird installs carbon and ceramic films in a range of shades. Every install is scoped to Virginia legal limits unless explicitly noted otherwise.

Why it matters

What the right film actually does.
Beyond shade.

Heat rejection

Ceramic films block infrared heat, keeping the cabin cooler without requiring darker VLT.

UV protection

Quality film blocks 99% of UV rays, protecting interior surfaces and skin during long drives.

Glare reduction

Reduces sun and headlight glare on daily commutes without darkening the cabin excessively.

Clean install geometry

Precision-cut patterns and edge-sealed seams mean no lifting, bubbles, or visible cut lines over time.

FAQ

Answers.
Before you reach out.

Is tint legal in Virginia?

Virginia sets specific VLT minimums for each window position. We install to legal limits by default and review any exception requests before cutting.

Ceramic or carbon film?

Ceramic rejects significantly more heat and blocks more IR than carbon, at a higher price. We walk through the tradeoffs during the consultation so the choice matches how you drive.

How long before I can roll down the windows?

We ask clients to keep windows up for 3-5 days after install so the film fully cures. Full clarity can take up to 2 weeks depending on humidity and temperature.

Does tint affect the rear defroster?

Quality film is installed over the defroster lines without interfering with their function. We inspect every install to confirm.
